The 2009 Home Worker Award was won by Karen Reyburn, from Airdrie, North Lanarkshire.

Karen manages the European division of a global organisation RAN ONE Europe entirely from home. Her motivation for entering this award is to let others see that life doesn’t have to revolve around a job location.

Where Karen is Now
As a result of winning this Award, Karen’s employer will be giving her the opportunity to travel a bit further afield and her next stop is Bali and Australia!

Karen said: “Winning this award has been a great reminder of the benefits of home working – to me, my employer, and to many others who have wondered just whether it’s possible to profitably work from home. 

As a result I will be spending a month in Bali and a few weeks in Australia, meeting colleagues and distributors for our business whom I have previously only met virtually!

I’m looking forward to the opportunity to continue working in a non-traditional way, and still achieve as much if not more than those who sit in the same office day after day.”
