The Vivid Green Award was won by Amanda Farren, Coventry, West Midlands. Amanda won a brand new garden office worth £10!
Why She Won
Ella Announcements was launched in early 2007 when young mum, Amanda, was looking for a way to stay at home with her children yet keep working. She had spent the previous year learning graphic and web design and used these skills to set up Ella Announcements, an online business offering announcements and invitations for any occasion, focusing on babies and young children.
Amanda Farren, Ella Announcements, Vivid Green Award. Amanda entered the Remote Worker Awards after seeing such a fantastic range of prizes up for grabs, although she had never expected to get to the finals, let alone win such a fantastic award.
Crushing the teenage mum stereotype, Amanda has challenged many peoples perceptions on young parents, being featured in both local and national newspapers, highlighting her success. This young woman has proved an inspiration to many people, and has created a fantastic life for her family already with an exciting future to look forward.

What The Win Has Done For Amanda
Entering, and then going on to win an award, has made a huge impact on Amanda both personally and professionally. Amanda has been given an additional, much needed, confidence boost.
Having struggled with her confidence since setting up her business, mainly down to her age, knowing that people not only acknowledged her and her business as a finalist, but as a deserving winner has transformed the way she perceives herself.
Other business people, and clients, now see that Amanda has won a national award which, in turn, has ensured her business continues to flourish giving people an added confidence in working with Ella Announcements.
By winning the Vivid Green Award, Amanda is also now the proud owner of a brand new garden office from Vivid Green. Amanda will be hoping to move in to her new office in a few weeks when her youngest child starts nursery.
Being able to have a dedicated workspace will no doubt improve efficiency in her work, and will enable Amanda to do the currently impossible and separate her work life from her family life. Her current office was once the dining room, and her whole family are looking forward to being able to restore this back into a family room.
Amanda said: "When I entered the Remote Worker Awards I never imagined I would win such a fantastic award and a life changing prize. I submitted my entry and thought nothing more of it.
I heard that I had made it through to the final whilst out of the house, and literally jumped up and down in the shopping centre. Everybody who works remotely in some form should definitely enter the 2010 awards.
It will take a few minutes out of your day, and you could walk away, as I did, winning an invaluable award. As soon as the awards are open, I will be submitting nominations for some deserving remote workers that I know."
